Pastor Mark D. Goodson comes from a family of seven with three brothers as Pastors. He was ordained an Elder in the Church of God in Christ in September 1991. He attended the Christian Research and Development Institute where he received credentials in Biblical Counseling as well as Pastoring With A Purpose. He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.

Pastor Goodson was a member of Freedom Christian Bible Fellowship in West Philadelphia since 1991 under the leadership of Bishop Gilbert Coleman, Jr. There he served as the Youth Pastor for a short period of time before being appointed the coordinator of the Counseling Ministry. In October 2004 Pastor Goodson was installed as the pastor of Destiny Worship Center By Bishop Gilbert Coleman, Jr.

In 1997 God gave Pastor Goodson the vision for “Model Marriage Ministries.” Their motto, “marriage maintenance-divorce prevention,” is the testimony of many marriages that have been saved. Through workshops, seminars, cell groups, in-home fellowships and marriage counseling, Pastor Goodson, along with his wife, Vanessa, have been instrumental in the restoration of many marriages by using the principles found in the Word of God.

In 2002 he was ordained a Pastor by Bishop Gilbert Coleman Jr. under the Freedom Worldwide Covenant Ministries.

Pastor Goodson has a unique way of sharing the Word of God. Many have testified that his counseling skills have been a benefit when he preaches because they never leave a worship service or teaching that he gives without having something to immediately apply to their lives.

Pastor Goodson was married in 1984 to Vanessa, and together they have raised two children and have been instrumental in the raising of their three grandchildren.
